Our Insect Control Process & Methods
When you contact us, we don’t jump straight into treatment. Every insect problem is different, so the first step is always understanding exactly what’s going on. Our technician will inspect the property, identify the type of insect involved, and look at where activity is coming from and why it’s happening.
Below are some methods of treatments and products Empire Pest Control use.
Insecticide Sprays

Empire Pest Control uses a range of insecticide sprays for clients & customers sites. We find these are a good method of control as some have a quick knock down for rapid control over heavy infestations and others have a lasting residual effect giving maximum protection after control has been gained. The use of all these insecticides are ideal for space, blanket and crack & crevice treatments for a number of pests (insects).
Insecticide Powders

Empire Pest Control makes use of a range of insecticide powders within our serviced sites. These insecticide powders are useful for applying into voids, cracks, crevices and areas where sprays would not be suitable, for example in electrical cupboards, around fridge motors and they can even be used to treat wasps nests.
Insecticide Gels
Gel Bait Applicator

Empire Pest Control incorporates the use of insecticide gels into our control programs with great success, these gels provide outstanding results when applied to large numbers of cracks & crevices and areas where ants or cockroaches, however the use of gel independently is sufficient to gain control of the most difficult and persistent activity.
Insecticide Fog/ULV
Fogging Machine

0.125% tetramethrin

Empire Pest Control use these insecticides for fogging purposes mainly. We feel that the availability of fogging on sites is a real benefit to our clients and customers. The results we get when fogging treatments are completed are fantastic. Please be aware that the areas need to be vacated after fogging has taken place (this can be for anything up to 4 hours).
Insecticide Smoke Generators

Empire Pest Control uses mini and maxi smoke generators as part of a treatment and independently. We have found that these are effective in the control and eradication of flies in a confined area, but also useful for a range of other insects. This is a simple procedure which involves simply placing the smoke generator in the area of activity then lighting the fuse, this will then release smoke containing the insecticide. Please be aware that the local fire brigade MUST be informed before these are used to prevent them being called out should smoke escape and be seen by the public.
Non Toxic Insect Control

Empire Pest Control will always consider using non toxic methods if practical, suitable and cost effective. These can be applied much the same way as any other insecticides, only eliminating the risk of harm to the environment. The same methods of application as insecticides those being sprayer and fogger.
Warning: Insecticides should only be used by qualified and trained professionals.

Insect Control FAQs
How much does insect control cost in London?
The cost of insect control can vary depending on the type of insect, how widespread the problem is and the size of the property. Some infestations are straightforward, while others need a more involved approach. We’re always upfront about pricing, and once we’ve assessed the situation, we’ll explain the cost before any work goes ahead.
Is insect control safe for children and pets?
Yes. Safety is always a priority. Our treatments are selected carefully and applied by trained professionals, with consideration given to who uses the property.
If any precautions are needed before, during or after treatment, we’ll explain these clearly so you know exactly what to expect.
Can insects come back after treatment?
In some cases, insects can return if the underlying cause of the infestation isn’t addressed. That’s why we don’t just focus on removing the insects you can see. We also offer practical advice and prevention guidance to help reduce the chances of the problem coming back.
Will insect control disrupt my business operations?
We understand that downtime can be costly for businesses. Wherever possible, we work around your schedule and aim to keep disruption to a minimum. Your technician will discuss the best timing and treatment approach to suit your business and the level of insect activity.
